Rosseti warns that the articles under which criminal cases are initiated provide for punishment with a real term of imprisonment. In addition, according to the authors of the material, "a significant part of the debt has already been recovered through the courts.".

The publication also provides examples of illegal mining farms. So, for their placement, the building of the former greenhouse complex, as it was in a small village in the Murmansk region, and a residential building in a prestigious area of Moscow can be used.

Dagestan has set an anti-record for the number of cases of cryptocurrency mining with illegal connection to the power grid. It accounts for about 50% of the identified episodes. The largest illegal mining farm was discovered on the territory of a reinforced concrete plant in Elista. “She consumed electricity on an industrial scale to match the chosen site - more than 109.7 million rubles,” write Rosseti.

Earlier, a criminal case was opened against the former head of the Russian Post branch in Mineralnye Vody, who was suspected of stealing electricity worth 30,000 rubles for the extraction of cryptocurrencies.
