CasperLabs startup adopting Ethereum scaling protocol raised $ 14.5 million
CasperLabs, a startup that develops an open source blockchain platform with the ability to scale without compromising decentralization, raised $ 14.5 million in Series A fundraising. The investment round was headed by Wall Street financier Terren Peiser through his holding company Acuitas Group Holdings. It was also attended by Arrington XRP Capital, Consensus Capital, Axiom Holdings Group, Digital Strategies, MW Partners, Blockchange Ventures, Hashkey Capital and Distributed Global.
CasperLabs said the new funding will accelerate product development and attract additional developers to its creation. The startup was founded in February, and the leading developer of its protocol is the famous Ethereum Foundation researcher Vlad Zamfir.
At the heart of CasperLabs' concept lies a PoS blockchain based on the Casper PoS Correct-by-Construction (CBC) protocol proposed by Zamfir. Initially, Casper was developed by Zamfir to solve the scalability problem of Ethereum, but it can only be integrated in the roadmap of the second cryptocurrency in a few years., whereas CasperLabs Promises Faster Results.
The company claims that they are addressing a trilemma of scalability, decentralization and security, while focusing on the needs of developers when building and maintaining applications..
CasperLabs promises to release "some interesting technical updates" in the coming months.
“I am studying cryptocurrency space and blockchain from their early days. I was waiting for a company to emerge that can take aspects of the power and decentralization of the public chain and combine them with the speed, security and scalability of the next generation platform, '' Peizer said. - Product and company scalability is the main driver of value creation. Consequently, the company that is most adept at scaling will be the industry leader. ".
